p.1 General Paragraphs - Capt. Saunders, of the whaleback steamer Wetmore, was found dead in his bed at Liverpool this morning. The craft was to have started for New York today.


A new wheel will be placed on the Bon Voyage to increase her speed.

The barge Alice Pacy is loading phosphate at Richardson & Sons for Montreal.

The schr. White Oak is on the dry dock at Portsmouth for a general overhauling.

Loose stone from the Point Frederick shoal is being used for filling in Swift's dock.

Folger Bros. have sent Mat. R. Davis and a gang of men to transfer a steam yacht from Charleston Lake to the St. Lawrence river.

Clearances: sloop Laura D., Cape Vincent, lumber; prop. Lake Michigan, Cleveland, light; tug Charley Ferris and three barges, Oswego, lumber; tug Thompson and two barges, Oswego, light.

Arrivals: schr. Ella Murton, Oswego, coal; tug Charley Ferris, Oswego, light; prop. Glengarry with consorts Glenora and Gaskin, Detroit, 105,000 bushels wheat; str. Aida, Alexandria Bay, excursion party.

The barge Glengarry was launched at Davis' dry dock, last evening, after being thoroughly overhauled. The steamer Swan was docked this morning for a new wheel. The barge Kingston goes on this afternoon for caulking and other minor repairs.

p.4 The Kingston Dock Scandal - Ottawa, July 29th - the Connollys and the mysterious Mr. Bancroft.
