The old whaling vessel Progress, which was brought from New Bedford, Mass., to the Columbian exposition was sold a few days ago for $300. She is lying, waterlogged in the south pond since the close of the exhibition and the purchaser is trying to dispose of her copper-lined hull. The persons who brought her to the exhibition lost $20,000 in the enterprise.
