This morning the prop. Alma Munro brought 100 excursionists to the city from Chicago. They remained a few hours and then left for a sail among the Thousand Islands.

The str. Rideau Belle arrived at Swift's this morning, at 8:30 o'clock. She was an hour late due to an extra large load of freight and passengers. Capt. Noonan claims that her speed has been increased two miles an hour because of an overhauling of her engine last spring. She left today at 1 p.m. for Ottawa with a great load of freight and passengers. She left a cargo of freight behind which could not be taken this trip.
p.2 Wolfe Island Township Council, July 4th - Moved by John Kinsley, seconded by H. Davis, and resolved, that on the complaint of numbers of ratepayers, the St. Lawrence steamboat company be notified to run the ferry according to the time specified in the lease.
