ROCKEFELLER CONTRACT CLOSED

DETROIT COMPANY HAS NEARLY $1,200,000 WORTH OF JOBS

The Detroit Drydock Co. yesterday received official notice from Pickands & Mather, of Cleveland, that they had signed the contract with the Detroit Co. for the mammoth boats for Rockefeller, mention of which was made in yesterday's Free Press.

The company now has contracts ahead for five steel steamers, amounting to $1,165,000, as follows: Steel side-wheel passenger steamer City of Buffalo, for the Cleveland & Buffalo Transit Co., to be completed by June 1 next and to cost $350,000; steel freight steamer for Peck, Hecker and others, to be ready for opening of navigation and to cost $225,000; freight steamer, $140,000, for Jones, et. al., Cleveland, to be ready by the opening; two for Rockefeller, to cost $225,000 each and to be ready by August next.
