Capt. Dix's str. Lorelei is being given improvements.

The schr. Hanlan is receiving repairs at Davis' dry-dock.

On Monday the steambarge Quebec will load ties for Cape Vincent.

The str. Hero will make her first trip up the Bay of Quinte on April 22nd.

It is announced that the Rideau and Tay canals will be opened on April 22nd.

The sailors are beginning to think it will be "winter all summer" this season.

The str. Richelieu will again run between Kingston and Gananoque this season.

The steamer D.D. Calvin did not leave for Toronto yesterday. She is still lying at Garden Island.

A telegram received this morning states that the steamer Armenia and tow arrived safely at Toronto. The message says the storm is severe there.

Incidents of the Day - The str. Pierrepont was unable to cross to Wolfe Island today on account of the blinding storm. The absence of the islanders was conspicuous on the market this morning.
