The schr. Grantham is unloading coal at the penitentiary.

The sloop Volunteer is in from Deseronto. She carries wood for Mallen & Co.

Yacht races will occur at Gananoque on July 1st. Yachts and skiffs from here will take part.

Capt. Shaw, of the schr. Fleetwing, states that marine business at Sodus Point is very slack at present. The schr. Two Brothers was the only vessel there yesterday and she cleared for Port Hope.

General Paragraphs - In two months the schr. Flora Emma carried thirteen cargoes between the Canadian and American shore. She cleared tonight for Oswego to load coal for Swift.

Clearances: schr. Jeannette, Erie, Penn., light; schr. F.H. Burton, light; prop. Aztec and barge Lapater, Kingston to Buffalo, light, passed Port Colborne last night.

Arrivals: str. Passport, Toronto; str. Algerian, Montreal; schr. Fleetwing, Sodus Point, coal; schr. Flora Emma, Oswego, coal; schr. Falconer, Oswego, coal; schr. Grantham, Oswego, coal; prop. Marquette, 5,400 bushels corn; schr. B.W. Folger, Oswego, coal.


Will Sketch The Caravels.

Nicholas Henderson will leave in a few days for Chicago where he intends spending the summer. It is his intention while there to take numerous sketches, and if he finds that he can better his situation by remaining in Chicago he will locate in the western metropolis. Among other sketches he will paint the Spanish caravels.
