The schr. B.W. Folger cleared for Oswego to load coal.

The schr. Burton is in with a load of coal from Oswego for the water works department.

The men received 15 cents a ton for storing rails in the prop. Glengarry for the upper lakes.

Swift's dock and the ferry wharf will be lit by large incandescent electric lights in future.

The str. Empire State will, before the season closes, take an excursion party to Montreal by searchlight.

The reason of so many boats being delayed in Kingston is due to the slow dispatch in Montreal. There are no ocean steamers in at present.

On Monday the prop. Ocean will take electric generators and motors to the Beauharnois canal. They will be used in opening and closing the gates. This machinery will likely be introduced on all the Canadian canals. The machinery is supplied by the Canada general electric company.
