The str. Owen Sound will be six weeks on her trip with the lighthouse supplies.

Davis and Sons shipped a new steamyacht to Muskoka Lake yesterday for Mr. Fairman.

The str. Owen Sound arrived from Montreal today. She is on her trip with the lighthouse supplied.

The steamyachts are beginning to arrive from the river resorts for the canal fishing. Pilot T. Connors is kept pretty busy.

Arrivals: str. Spartan, Toronto; str. Algerian, Montreal; str. Bon Voyage, Charlotte; schr. Fabiola, Oswego, coal; schr. Parker, Chicago, 43,000 bushels wheat.

The str. Pierrepont took seventy people to Cape Vincent on the early trip this morning. The str. Maud had 150 over at ten o'clock. The Cape people are having a big celebration today.

The str. Bannockburn, towing the barges Winnipeg and Selkirk, arrived at Port Colborne last night. She has made an exceptionally fast trip this time considering her tow. The Bannockburn can pull a tow behind her and make as fast time as lots of the lake steamers with no outside encumbrances.

Folger's Latest Purchase - The interest held by Cornwall Bros., Alexandria Bay, in the Alexandria Bay steamboat company, has been purchased by the Folger Bros. for the Thousand Island steamboat company, which practically gives it a monopoly of the excursion business among the Thousand Islands. The newly acquired property includes the steamers Island Wanderer and Chauncey M. Depew. If this purchase does secure control of the river business from our knowledge of the company we are satisfied rates will not be increased but better service will be given.
