Ed. Fox, Cape Vincent, says his steam-yacht Rex is king of the river in point of speed. She can beat any steamyacht afloat in this district.

The steamer Empire State will not call at Brockville on Sundays awaiting judgement in the appeal against police magistrate Deacon's decision.

The Richelieu & Ontario Navigation Co. has issued a statement covering the period from the opening of navigation to July 31st. The gross receipts were $321,682.99; expenses, 144,197.27; net receipts $167,185.64, almost $47,000 in net receipts greater than last year for the same period.

Arrivals for the week - schr. Delaware, Oswego, coal; str. Business, Toledo, 40,000 bushels wheat; schr. S.H. Dunn, Toledo, timber; str. Armenia and barge Valencia, Toledo, timber; prop. Erin, Chicago, 28,000 bushels wheat; schr. Annie Falconer, Oswego, coal; schrs. Ella Murton, Folger and Queen of the Lakes, Oswego, coal.
