The schr. Fleetwing's cargo is for Rockwood asylum.

The schr. Fabiola arrived in from Oswego with coal this morning.

Passed Port Colborne: Str. Langdon, Chicago to Ogdensburg, general cargo; Erin and barge, Fort William to Kingston, wheat; str. Orion and barges, Marquette to Collins Bay, timber.

Arrivals, Garden Island: Str. Clinton and the barges Lisgar and Grimsby, from Ontanagon, with pine timber; str. Huron, from Ogdensburg, light. Cleared: Str. Armenia and barges Valencia and Norway, light.

The str. North King made a run down the river yesterday afternoon. She had a party of amateur photographers from the city who took snap shots along the route. The steamer also had passengers for Alexandria Bay.

The steambarge Jack was seized near Detroit yesterday and towed into that port. She was tied up and will be held there until proper security is given the owner of the str. Norman, sunk in the collision. A suit will be brought against the Calvin Co. H.A. Calvin left for Detroit this morning. The marine law states that in case of a collision being the fault of one of the boats, the owners of the injured craft can only come on the other company for the value of the steamer doing the damage. Consequently if it was proven that the steamer Jack was to blame for the accident, the Calvin Co. would lose about $40,000. The Norman's owners have entered suit for $180,000 against the Jack. Mr. Calvin will, no doubt, furnish bonds and the Jack will be allowed to proceed to Kingston.

p.4 Steamyacht Gitana Lost - str. Gitana, owned by G.B. Sloan, jr., Oswego, supposed to be lost on Lake Ontario; last seen near Stoney Island.
