p.1 General Paragraphs - The str. Columbian, owned by the R. & O. N. Co., has been withdrawn from the Buffalo and Chippewa route and transferred to Montreal as a spare boat for the St. Lawrence this season.
The schr. Picton, of Cobourg, was sold by the Rooney Plunket company to Capt. Grant Horne, of Garden Island, for $1,000. The vessel is in good shape. The owner has secured a bargain.
The str. Bon Voyage will tomorrow commence her regular trips between Rochester and Kingston and Thousand Island ports.
On the way down from Picton yesterday the steamer America beat the time of the steamers North King and Hero for certain distances.
Mr. Cartwright, Belleville, is sole owner of the steam launch, built by Robinson Bros., of this city. Mr. Bawden, Belleville, is engineer.
Last evening the str. America left for Prescott to bring to camp battalions of volunteers. Before leaving the rays of her searchlight were thrown over the city.
All doubt as to the fate of the Oswego yacht Ginita and her crew has been set at rest. The craft left Oswego for the Thousand Isles and was caught in a storm and lost. The yacht's boat and the caps of some of the crew have been picked up at Tibbett's Point.

Home On A Visit - Lieut. W. Leslie, son of William Leslie, manager of the Collins bay rafting company, arrived home today. The lieutenant is a graduate of the R.M.C. and has been stationed at Ceylon for the past four or five years. He is off on leave because of illness. He was taken down with fever a few weeks ago and was given a holiday.
