MARINE INTELLIGENCE.

The prop. Myles put off some merchandise here this morning on her way to Duluth.

The steamer Pilgrim will be used on the steamer Hero's route when the latter has excursions.

The schr. Annie Falconer has arrived at Collins Bay where she will unload her cargo of coal.

The str. Kate Butteroni, from Chicago with 30,000 bushels of corn and 225 tons of wire rods, arrived at the M.T. Co.'s dock yesterday.

A Kingston syndicate has purchased the str. Pilgrim, in service at Toronto. Since coming to Kingston she has been repainted and improved.

Next winter the str. Merritt of Picton will be lengthened eighteen feet, her engine will be compounded and a searchlight added. She will be used exclusively for excursion purposes.

There are always two sides to a story and Capt. Shaw does not want people to think that the schr. Fabiola can beat the Fleetwing. Capt. Shaw claims that Capt. Bates once went so far as to row the vessel when caught in a calm on the recent trip from Oswego. The Fleetwing passed the Fabiola four times on the way over but could not move along in the extremely light breeze because of the way she was loaded.

p.2 An Expensive Piece of Botching - Ottawa, June 25th - investigation into Soo canal contracts continues.
