Cleared from Garden Island: Str. Niagara, Oswego, light; schr. Emerald, Oswego, light.

Arrivals: Passport, Toronto; str. Persia, St. Catherines; str. Bon Voyage, Charlotte; str. Hamilton, Hamilton.

The prop. Lake Michigan will be up tonight with the lighthouse supplies. This steamer has the contract this year. P. Harty goes with the steamer.

p.2 The Canadian Soo canal will not be opened until the approaches are fully completed. This is the reason why the government refused permission for the American steamer International to pass through.

p.3 Collinsby, July 16th - ....The str. City of Owen Sound with barge Muskoka and schr. J.G. Worts arrived on Saturday from Ontonagon with timber....
