p.1 General Paragraphs - The str. Varuna took the Hero's place on the Bay of Quinte, today, and brought a large number of passengers to the city.


The schr. Fleetwing got away for Oswego last night to load coal for Kingston.

Arrivals: Str. Spartan, Toronto; str. James Swift, Ottawa; str. Algerian, Montreal.

The schr. Jamieson has arrived from Oswego. She has a cargo of coal for Clark's malt house.

The str. James Swift had a big load of passengers up from Ottawa yesterday, and this morning had a large number down to the capital.

The schr. Picton, belonging to Capt. Horn, has been stripped of her canvass. The vessel has had very little to do this season and has not paid expenses.
