The schr. Annandale has arrived from Oswego with coal and will clear again today for another cargo.

The schr. Dunn, damaged in the collision at the Narrows on Saturday night, is having a new bowsprit put on by M. Clayton, Kingston, at Brockville, where the schooner is taking on a cargo of feldspar for Cleveland, Ohio.
The water is getting so low in the Rideau canal that the str. James Swift cannot carry enought freight down to Ottawa to make it pay. Capt. Noonan is now negotiating with Capt. Ira Folger for the use of the steambarge King Ben for the balance of the season.
The forwarding companies have received word from the authorities that vessels cannot get through the lower canal drawing a greater draught than eight feet. Vessels had formerly been allowed nine feet. This will mean 4,000 bushels less on the cargo of every barge going down. The manager of the M.T. Co. claimed this morning that on an eight foot draught the forwarding companies could not make any money, no matter how much business they did.

Gave Him A Present - Leo Joly, steward of the str. Corsican, was presented with a handsome cigar-holder at the City hotel, last night, by his staff of waiters. Mr. Joly is very popular with the crew. He has been steward on the R. & O. N. Co.'s boats for a good many years.
