Mr. M. B. Lloyd, Mrs. Lloyd, sen., Mrs. M. B. Lloyd, Mrs. Jamieson and family, Cyrus Lloyd, and two servants start for the North-West on Monday [3 Apr 1882] next. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Lloyd go to Winnipeg, and the others to Dakota, where Mr. Lloyd sen. and sons have taken up land and have a place ready for the family.

Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd sen were John and Margaret (Conmee) Lloyd whose dau. Agnes Anne Lloyd m. Capt. Charles Alphonso Farrar of Meaford. Marshall Burns Lloyd (inventor of the Lloyd Loom) had just that month (15 Mar 1882) married Emma Crosskill. Their sister Ellen Lloyd m. William Jamieson. Cyrus Sing Lloyd was my great-grandfather. Margaret Conmee was the sister of James Conmee, a contractor for the CPR RR and member of Parliament.
