Marine News - Officials Will Decide

Capt. W.W. Smith, superintendent of the Pittsburg Steamship Co., has been in the city for the past two days for the purpose of investigating the wreck of the JOLIET, which was sunk below this port last Friday. It is expected that it will be decided tomorrow just what will be done on the sunken boat regarding the raising and floating of her. In accordance with the officials of the Pittsburg Steamship company, the Lake Carriers' ship KEWAUNEE arrived here yesterday afternoon and will be stationed at the head of the wreck until matters are cleared up.
