Issuing A Guide Book - Capt. Noonan is publishing a guide book of the Rideau this year on his own responsibility. It will be beautifully illustrated with views of the Rideau and will contain a host of information for tourists and sportsmen. He expects to have it ready for distribution by April 15th.

p.4 Government boiler inspector T.P. Thompson made a satisfactory test of the new boiler for the steamer Chieftain at Garden Island yesterday.

The Calvin company is building an engine for its steamer at Garden Island. Some city labor is employed.

Feb. 25, 1898

p.4 Will Be Changes - The directors of the R. & O. navigation company have decided to postpone the appointment of the captains and crews and general staff until the next meeting. It is understood that there are to be several changes among the officers of the company's fleet, and at least half a dozen transfers.
