Part of the wheat cargo of the schooner Minnedosa was damaged by water during her last trip. Tons of water swept her decks during the down trip.
The schooner Queen of the Lakes cleared yesterday for Oswego to load coal for R. Crawford & Co. The owners of the schooner are receiving a freightage of sixty cents a ton on the coal.
The steamer Sir Leonard Tilley cleared this afternoon for Oswego to load coal for Hamilton, where the steamer goes into winter quarters. The freight on the coal is seventy cents a ton.
The steamer Rosemount reached the M.T. company's elevator yesterday afternoon with 73,000 bushels of wheat from Fort William. As soon as discharged she will go into winter quarters.
The steamer Sir Leonard Tilley, Port Arthur, is discharging a cargo of wheat at Richardson & Sons' elevator. This winds up the business of that elevator for the season, as far as western grain is concerned.
The steamer Arabian, in tow of the tug Thomson, arrived at the M.T. company's elevator at 4:30 o'clock last evening. She lightered 13,000 bushels of grain into a barge and cleared in tow of the Thomson for Prescott. Some of her upper works were badly smashed and the entire steamer was coated with ice. The tug Jessie Hall was sent up the lake during the course of the afternoon, but her services were not required.
