The steamer Cuba, from Montreal, called at Craig's wharf this morning.

The steambarge John S. Parsons entered Davis' dry-dock to-day for repairs.

The tug Drake, burned at Oswego recently, will be brought here next week to be rebuilt at Davis' dry-dock.

Arrivals at Swift's wharf to-day: Steamers Algerian from Hamilton; Hamilton from Montreal; Toronto on her both trips.

The steamer Arabian, from Fort William, lightered 8,000 bushels of wheat at the M.T. company elevator last night, and cleared for Montreal.

Isaac Lewis, New York, was here this week to test the steam yacht Aurora, built for him at Davis & Sons shipyard. It was found to be satisfactory. Mr. Lewis arrives back next week with his family.

The sailing yacht built for George E. Davis, New York, at Davis & Sons' shipyard, will be completed tomorrow. Mr. Davis will arrive from New York on Monday, to take up summer residence on Wolfe Island.

Capt. Frank Conlin, of the schooner St. Joseph, saw the wreckage of the schooner Picton 21 miles out of Oswego on Sunday afternoon. Cabin, railings, water barrels and bags of provisions were floating about.

The steamer Nellie Cuthbert, being rebuilt at Davis' drydock during the past three weeks, has been completed, and was floated out of the dock this morning. The steamer will run excursions from Brockville to river points.

The Calvin company has the steamers Parthia and Johnston at work in the attempt to release the stranded steamer Spartan. The steamer is not injured to any extent, but she lies in a position in which it is extremely difficult for wreckers to work at her.

The steamer America did quick and steady work yesterday afternoon. She carried St. Andrew's picnic to Long Island park, returned to the city and proceeded on the Cape Vincent trip; called at Channel Grove on her return trip and brought Chalmer's picnickers home; then went to Long Island park and got St. Andrew's picnickers, reaching the city at eight o'clock. Capt. Carnegie dares any other steamer to do quicker work than that.

p.4 Took Fire In the Hold - yacht Spry, running between Point Vivian and Alexandria Bay, owned and sailed by Capt. John Dingman; put out by pumping water in.

Fish Were Powerless - Capt. James Dougherty, with the schooner S. & J. Collier, lay at pier at Sodus during storm; waves swept away upper timbers from weather side of pier, and threw many fish on the pier. [Belleville Sun]

p.5 Will Be A Great Feat - Mariners say that if the Calvin company succeeds in liberating the steamer Spartan from the rocks in the Lachine canal, where the water flows at the rate of thirty miles an hour, the feat will be the first (sic - finest ?) piece of wrecking skill ever performed in these waters. The odds are all against the wreckers, who have great difficulties to overcome.

p.6 Vessel Owners Complain - lumber and ore-carrying trade is dead; wages so high that no one is making money; looking to St. Lawrence route to save them. [Montreal Herald]

Incidents of the Day - The burned tug Drake, towed from Oswego to Kingston a few days ago, is still sunk off Booth's wharf. It was kept afloat with difficulty on the way over. S. Chapman is engaged in raising the tug which will be rebuilt at Davis' dry dock
