p.1 The crew of the Pierrepont should be presented with a silver mug. Yesterday they loaded twelve tons of hay (135 bales) at Wolfe Island, in fourteen minutes. Capt. Allen is proud of the gunboat crew's feat.

p.5 The Breeches Buoy - At Last Proper Respect For Feelings of Women - life saving stations to be provided with canvas bag skirt for breeches buoy to take women ashore from shipwrecks - poking fun at Boston women.

MARINE INTELLIGENCE.

The steamer Algerian did not arrive from Toronto until late this morning.

The steamer Arabian cleared last night from Mooer's elevator for Duluth.

The tug Thomson cleared for Charlotte with two light barges to load coal.

The steam barge John Milne, Smith's Falls to Oswego, light, passed this port this morning.

The steam barge Iona, Deseronto to Ogdensburg with lumber, passed down this morning.

The tug Bronson arrived from Montreal with four light barges and cleared again with four barges, grain laden.

The steamer Bigelow, of Alexandria Bay, was at Swift's wharf this morning. She went up the Rideau to meet a party of New Yorkers at Smith's Falls. This party will remain on the Rideau for a week or more.

p.8 Incidents of the Day - Capt. Shaw, of the schooner Marianette, whose yawl boat was crushed to pieces by the steam yacht Niagara has purchased the yawl which belonged to the sunken vessel, schooner Fabiola.
