p.2 Personal Mention - John Donnelly, working at the wrecked steamer Jennie, in Frenchman's Bay, spent a few hours in the city today. He says the divers are saving a lot of the steamer's cargo of iron.
Incidents of the Day - The sloop Volunteer tried to reach Simcoe Island with a load of lumber, but had to return on account of the gale.
Citizens are subscribing to a benefit to be tendered Capt. Pierce, Portsmouth, for his interest in and advancement of yachting and boating in Kingston.

Deseronto, Dec. 13th - The cold weather during the past few days has closed navigation. The steamers Deseronto, Ella Ross, Resolute, and Reliance have gone into winter quarters. The steamers Resolute and Reliance were the two last boats to arrive in port, the tug Rescue keeping the channel open to allow them to reach here. The ice on the bay is about four inches thick.... Capt. McMaster has sold the schooner Annandale. He arrived home today after a very successful season on the upper lakes.
p.5 Down the River - Thousand Island Park, Dec. 10th - .... The sloop Swallow, ashore here for several weeks, has not yet been released, although several attempts have been made to do so by the steamers Minnie and Ring Leader. When released she will be taken to Slate's ship yard, Grindstone Island, where she will be rebuilt. The sloop Dolphin and schooner Frezia will also be rebuilt there the coming winter....
Thomas Gaskin returned from Buffalo, N.Y., today. He was mate on a vessel on the upper lakes during the past season.
