TENDER FOR THE WOLFE ISLAND FERRY.

Tenders Will Be Received up to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 1st, 1903, for the lease of a Ferry between Wolfe Island and the City of Kingston for a period of seven years. Lowest nor any tender not necessarily accepted. For further particulars apply to D.J. Dawson, Township Clerk.

Wolfe Island, July 15th, 1903.

p.2 Considerable anxiety was felt in Picton on Monday for the safety of a party which went out to the Main Ducks in A.W. Hepburn's yacht on Sunday, as a heavy sea had arisen. The Waterlily was despatched in search, and found the party comfortably located on the island.

MARINE INTELLIGENCE.

Craig's wharf: steamers Persia down; Ocean up tonight.

The schooner Sophia Luff is loading stone at the penitentiary wharf for Toronto.

The schooner Two Brothers, from Charlotte, is loading coal at the water works wharf.

The steamer Westmount discharged 147,000 bushels of wheat at Goderich on Monday. The Rosedale arrived with grain same day.

M.T. company elevator: steamer Omaha clears tonight for Chicago; tug Thomson up with three light barges and cleared down with two grain-laden.

Swift's wharf: steamers Kingston and North King down; Rideau King from Smith's Falls this evening; Rideau Queen cleared for Smith's Falls; Spartan from Hamilton.

Raised The Cables - at Cataraqui Bridge so the dredge could work under the swing bridge.

p.4 Needs of the Hour - editorial on improvements needed to meet increased grain traffic.

p.6 Incidents of the Day - Commander Spain, of the marine department, was here today in connection with the harbor buoys, about which he had a consultation with Harbor Master McCammon.
