p.1 Tidal Wave Swept Away Docks - Michigan City, Ind., June 8th - A tidal wave four feet high swept in from Lake Michigan, washing the top off the docks for one-fourth of a mile from the harbor entrance. The wave was the heaviest on record here.
The repairs to the dynamite-laden steamer Dorothy, refused admission to the government dry dock, was commenced, this morning, the Donnelly company having charge of the work of replacing the broken stern wheel. Divers were at work this morning encasing the stern of the steamer in a wooden box after which the water was removed, with the Donnelly pumping apparatus, from the damaged portion of the steamer, thus leaving the main portion still in deep water. The steamer is being repaired at a point just outside the entrance to the dry-dock, and it was not known, this morning, just when the work would be completed.

The schooner Acacia cleared from the Locomotive Works wharf last night to load coal at Sodus.
The freight steamer Ames, from the upper lakes, took on a pilot here, this morning, and proceeded down the river.
At Swift's wharf: steamers Toronto down and up today; Rideau King to Ottawa; Picton down today and Hamilton up this evening.
p.5 A Handsome Surplus - Wolfe Island, June 5th - It is stated that with the expiration this month of the lease of the wharf at the foot of Clarence street, Kingston, used by the ferry steamer Wolfe Islander, an arrangement will be entered into with the Messrs. Folger for landing privileges at the ferry wharf, foot of Brock street. At a meeting of Wolfe Island council, the action of Manager Briceland in dismissing Capt. Crawford was ratified. Captain Crawford has engaged a lawyer and will enter suit against the township for salary. The earnings of the ferry steamer Wolfe Islander for May were $875, with expenses $650.
