March 17, 1908

p.6 Wolfe Island, March 2nd - Moved, Fawcett-Spoor, that the reeve and George Keys act as assistant managers with the Wolfe Islander, no salary. D.J. Dawson appointed to keep the steamboat books at $25 for the year. Steamboat accounts paid: James McDonald, 14 days carpenter work, $28; C. Cummings, 1 month captain, $50; R. Mullin, 1 month engineer, $66.66; Miss Ahearn, 1 years interest on $500 note, $30; James Swift & Co., coal for January, $88.87; McKelvey & Birch, amount of account, $3; Thomas Passo ?, 12 days in February, $15; Robert Bustard, 6 1/2 days in February, $8.43; Resolved that bylaw be passed empowering the reeve to borrow $300 for steamboat purposes. Resolved, that G. Keegan be given the boarding of crew of steamer Wolfe Islander at the same price as 1907.

March 6th - Special meeting called by reeve and councillors Fawcett and Keys. Moved, Keys-Fawcett, moved, and resolved, that we set a scale of wages for deckhands for steamer Wolfe Islander as follows: Up to July 1st, $20; July and August, $25; after that to close of the season, $29 ($20?) per month; mate $40; firemen, $35 per month; Moved Keys-Fawcett, and resolved, that an order be passed to settle with the Cataraqui Bridge company for $150.
