p.1 Steam Yacht Castanet Sold - Alexandria Bay, N.Y., Aug. 12th - The steamyacht Castanet has again changed hands, but no change will be made in her management. William E. Miller, her recent owner, has transferred the title to Mrs. Carrie E. Visger. Capt. Walter L. Visger will remain in command of the yacht. The Castanet has had a successful season thus far and has proved herself to be a popular boat among the summer tourists this summer as heretofore.



The schooner Katie Eccles arrived from Oswego with coal for William Drury.

The steambarge Mary Louise cleared for Rideau canal ports with general freight.

The schooner Julia B. Merrill arrived at the penitentiary from Charlotte with coal.

The steamer Sowards arrived from Charlotte with a cargo of coal for Crawford's.

The schooner Major Ferry arrived from Charlotte, and is unloading coal at Sowards'.

The schooner Bertha Kalkins, unloading coal at the Grove Inn, cleared for Oswego.

The steamer Rosedale passed up from Montreal, today, and went on to Belleville to load cement for Fort William.

Swift & Co.'s wharf: steamers Toronto and Caspian down and up; steamer Britannic up today; steamer Rideau Queen from Ottawa this afternoon.

M.T. Co.'s elevator: tug Emerson up with three light barges, cleared for Port Dalhousie with two barges, to load coal at Lake Erie; the steamer Westmount is due in a day or so, with grain from Fort William.

Gananoque Tidings - ...The steambarge Waterlily was in port last evening on her trip up from Montreal with considerable freight.

p.8 Steamer Dundee for Drydock - Capt. Featherstonhaugh, of Midland, superintendent of the Inland Navigation company, is here to superintend repairs to the steamer Dundee, which will enter the Kingston drydock tomorrow. The Dundee is now on her way up the river. She took a cargo of wheat to Montreal, and when in the Rapid du Plat, she struck and sustained some damage.
