p.1 Calvin Co. To Raise The Barge Davie, Sunk in Alexandria Bay Narrows

The contract for raising the barge Davie, of the M.T. Company, has been awarded to the Calvin Co., which will begin work in a few days. The Davie was sunk a couple of weeks ago in the Narrows at Alexandria Bay while en route to Montreal with a cargo of wheat. The vessel is lying on its beams-end in deep water. The wheat is valued at $45,000, and the boat at $25,000, so that there is $70,000 worth of material in the wreck.
