p.3 The Hon. John Hamilton has chartered the steam-boat Britannia for the season to run between Toronto and Hamilton, and is building a beautiful steam packet at Niagara Dock, to run from Queenston to Toronto, touching at all the ports on the head of Lake Ontario. [Montreal Morning Courier]

It is intended, we learn, that the last mentioned vessel is to run all the year round.

Rideau Canal - The steam-boat Margaret arrived on Thursday with 25 or 30 passengers. The Rideau came up from Bytown yesterday in the short space of 34 hours - some say 32 1/2 hours - passing through 39 locks. Business on the canal is going on briskly.

NOTICE.

The Annual Election of Directors for the St. Lawrence Inland Marine Assurance Company, pursuant to notice, took place at the Office of the Company, in Prescott, on the 4th instant, as provided by the Act of Incorporation, when the following persons were declared duly elected, viz.:

Joseph Wenham, Jonas Jones,

Justus S. Merwin, W.J. Scott,

Alpheus Jones, Wm. McQueen,

Alfred Hooker, Sidney Jones,

Henry Sherwood, D.B.O. Ford,

Robert Harvey.

The Board then adjourned, until Monday, the 11th instant, at which time they met, and proceeded to the election of Officers for the year ending the first Monday in May, 1836, viz.:

Jonas Jones, President.

Wm. J. Scott, Vice-President.

J.S. Mervin, Trustee.

Alfred Hooker, Trustee.

A. Jones, Secretary and Treasurer.

A. Jones, Secretary.

St. L.I.M. Assurance Company.

Prescott, May 11th, 1835.
