p.1 The Ontario Steamer - This remarkable vessel arrived in our harbour on Monday last from Niagara, having performed the passage in less than 12 hours. She proceeded to Prescott on Monday afternoon, reaching that place, a distance of 72 miles, in 4 hours and 25 minutes. The Ontario, we learn, will this day test the great experiment of surmounting the rapids of the Long Sault.

The spirited proprietor, the Hon. John Hamilton is on board, and we in common with the community generally, wish him every success. We shall take the earliest opportunity of communicating the result of this interesting and important enterprise to our readers.
