p.2 Wm. L. Mackenzie - complaint that people planned to take him by force to Toronto on steamer Gore, for the reward of £1,000 offered for him by the British Government. [Com. Advertiser]

p.3 The Government Contract for carrying the Mail by steam from Dickenson's Landing to Toronto, was given out on Saturday last, in Montreal. We learn that Donald Bethune, Esq., of Cobourg, is the contractor. The mail is to be carried through the route in 36 hours, requiring at least five first rate steamers to ensure that punctuality required by the terms of the contract.
