MERCHANT SEAMEN'S SOCIETY.
At a Public Meeting of the Masters, Owners and Seamen, of vessels navigating the Canadian waters, held at the National Hotel on the 3rd inst., a Society was formed for the worthy objects of relieving Seamen in distress and aiding the families of such Members as may die in indigent circumstances. The Society is to be sustained by a small fee, and its affairs managed by a President, 2 Vice Presidents, Treasurer, 2 Secretaries and a Committee of Management, to consist of 8 members. The following are the Office bearers for the present year, viz.:
