p.2 An Inquest was held by Dr. Finlayson, on board of the Highlander at this port, today, on one of the crew, who, it seems, lost his life by coming in contact with the machinery of the boat. [Cornwall Observer]

The Montreal Herald says the barge Maria was wrecked in her passage over the Lachine Rapids, on Thursday last with a cargo of flour, pork, etc. The Pilot and others of the crew are supposed to be drowned.
