The following Rules, Regulations and Rates were adopted for the Ferry, between Kingston and Wolf Island, and vice versa, and are now published for the information and guidance of those concerned.
For a single passage to and from Wolf Island, and Garden Island,
with the privilege of returning free the same day. 1s. 3d.
A Double Waggon and 2 Horses 4s. 0d.
A Single Horse and Waggon 2s. 6d.
A Single Horse 1s. 3d.
Oxen and Cows, each 1s. 0d.
Calves and Hogs, each 0s. 3d.
Sheep, each 0s. 2d.
Barrels with contents, each 0s. 2d.
Ditto empty, each 0s. 1d.
Bags with contents, each 0s. 1 1/2d.
Traveller's Baggage, over 80 lb. 4d. per cwt.
Merchandize of all descriptions 3d. per cwt.
Slaughtered Animals, same per carsase as alive.
Small Packages, each 0s. 1d.
The Rates between Garden Island and Wolf Island, one-half of the above.
Between the 20th October, and the close of the Navigation, the above Rates
to be increased 50 per cent.
The Hours of Ferrying To Be As Follows:
From the opening of the Navigation to 20th October: To leave Kingston 6 and 10
o'clock, A.M. and at 2 and 5 P.M. To leave Wolf Island at 7 and 11 o'clock A.M.
and at 3 and 6 o'clock P.M.
From the 20th October to the end of the Navigation: To leave Kingston at 7 A.M.
and 12 Noon & 3 o'clock P.M. Wolf Island at 8 o'clock A.M. & 1 and 4 P.M.
Touching always in passing, to take in Freight or Passengers from Garden Island.
The lessees of the Ferry are required to keep a Skiff for the conveyance of Travellers between the hours of 6 and 9 in the evening, the charge for which is to be five shillings each, both ways.
