p.3 The Cherokee - This beautiful vessel, which has lain useless at the Naval Yard since she was launched about three years ago, has been put in commission. We are glad to perceive that the Naval Authorities in England are alive to the grasping propensities of our neighbours. The present crusade of the United States against Mexico, is but a prelude to the one which will be made against Canada; and it behooves us to be prepared. Let Great Britain Recollect That There Is A Deep Rooted Antipathy Towards Her In The United States, and that the ignorant portion of her own subjects there are not the least hostile. The struggle, when it comes, as it must, will be one of bloated and rampant Republicanism against mild monarchical sway.
