p.2 Melancholy Accident - 18 of 24 men who set out in a rowboat drowned while crossing from Cedar Island Redoubt to Fort Frederick; meeting at City Hall, Committee appointed to collect subscriptions for widows and orphans.

Deplorable - a man from Kingston jumped from schooner Sovereign and drowns at Hamilton - he was laboring under the effects of delirium tremens. [Hamilton Spectator]
