p.3 The schooner California, owned by Messrs. MacPherson & Crane, arrived here from Port Stanley (Lake Erie) this morning, with a cargo of 10,300 bushels of wheat on board, having passed through the Welland, Cornwall, and Beauharnois Canals. The vessel now lies opposite Mr. Gould's Mills. She appears to be a fine model for canal navigation, drawing but 7 feet 5 inches of water with the above mentioned cargo on board. [Pilot]
