p.3 a meeting was held in Niagara District to adopt measures to open a Canal between Lake Erie and Ontario.

On the 30th May on Lake Erie, 3 successive swells appeared at Otter and Kettle Creeks, which are 20 miles apart; the swells were 7 feet high. [York Gazette]
