133x27x7 Owned by T. F. Park (Erie & St. Lawrence Transportation Co.). Built by Jones, Amherstburg Ont., and launched 23/07/46. Engines (2) by Cayuga Co., Cleveland Ohio. Used Montreal-Upper Lakes. New upper cabins and staterooms 1849 (previously 30 passengers in cabins). ` Main deck now all clear for deck passengers. Advertised direct trip to California gold rush to leave Montreal November 1850; voyage cancelled. Illegally condemned by U.S. Customs 1852 for "breach of revenue laws"; later found false accusation but vessel kept in U.S. nevertheless.
