87x16x6 Owned by Murray & Sanderson, Montreal 1841; to Tobin Murison & Sanderson, Montreal 1846; Wenham & Sanderson, Montreal 1847. Built by W. Parkin, Brockville 1840. One of first four screw vessels in Canada. "The Ericson [sic] propeller…. is to be applied to four large barges…now building for Messrs. Sanderson & Murray…The necessary engines will be ready shortly after the opening of navigation in the spring, three of them being built at New York." Used on Montreal-Kingston-Ottawa triangle. Passenger accommodation and full-length promenade deck applied 1842. Registered as "Ericson" but an obvious error as inventor of screw propeller was John Ericsson. May have been renamed "John Bull" 1847.
