140x26x16 Owned by Great Western Railway of Canada. Building location "supposed at Maumee City, Ohio" (Register), probably 1846. Ferry. Capsized and sank early March 1858 Detroit. More confusion surrounds this vessel than almost any other. Choose from the following fates: (1) Sunk by cattle stampede March 1866 Detroit; (2) Rebuilt barge 1868 and wrecked 21/10/73 Leamington Ont.; (3) Sank 1860 Lake Superior; (4) "Propeller "Globe" sunk in Saginaw Bay three or four years since" raised and being rebuilt as barge.
