p.3 The steamer Frontenac has been placed on a new route, running between Belleville & Oswego, via Kingston. This arrangement will doubtless be found highly advantageous to business men, whose interest it will be to sustain the Frontenac on the line which has now been selected. The short term of relaxation which this steamer has had, has enabled the proprietors to refit, and contribute much to the neatness of her appearance.
The President, a small steamboat plying between this port and Sackett's Harbor, struck yesterday on some rocks, near the head of Long Island and immediately filled. A part of her machinery, and all her freight, with the exception of some barrels of potash, were got out and put on the John Marshall. The heavy sea running today will doubtless complete her destruction.
