First Rebuild: Propulsion: Sidewheel Rebuilt: Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1833

Approx. 80' Owned by R. Drummond; to Ottawa & Rideau Forwarding Co. 1835. Used Kingston-Bytown-Grenville; occasionally St. Lawrence towboat. Had 32 berths (before lengthening), carried 30 cabin passengers (afterwards). Boiler exploded 01/05/38 Grenville, 2 killed; repaired. Maiden voyage about 20/07/32. Note: Merrickville building location has been questioned. However, newspaper "Canadian Courant" is specific on this point at time of lengthening (one year later).
