Gale on Lake Ontario - Letters from Sackett's Harbour, of the 16th inst. state that a violent gale was experienced there on that day. The schooner Ariadne, Captain Reed, the best vessel of her size on the Lake, was capsized at Fox-Island, near Grand Island - crew and passengers saved. She was in ballast. The schooner John, of Cape Vincent, laden with pork &c. went on shore in Sackett's Harbour Bay, a perfect wreck - crew saved. A small schooner rigged pleasure boat, which went out on the same day, with three persons, was capsized, and two of them (Lee & Weges) lost: the other person saved himself by swimming. It was expected many other accidents and losses had happened.
