- Description
- Originally the ship chandlery of Daniel Lyons & Son, later John S. Parsons, was located in the old Academy of Music building on Water street, that was also called Doolittle Hall. Photo is taken at the corner of West Cayuga and Water streets. The structure was condemned as unsafe in 1892 and was demolished in 1904. Parsons, who started as a clerk there, later bought out the Lyons estate. The chandlery traced it routes back to 1830.
