MORE ABOUT THE STORM

Per steamer Clinton which arrived in Detroit last night, we learn of the wreck of the schooner Berlin, off Gridstone City, together with the loss of four out of six of the crew. The Berlin, loaded with lumber from Marblehead for Bay City, went ashore Friday night and the men were in the rigging until 4 P.M. Saturday. Their sufferings were beyond human endurance, and one by one four of them succumbed to the elements. The captain and son are among the lost. The body of the latter washed ashore and was brought to the city lsat night. Peter Orsen, one of the saved, and another, whose name is unknown, came down on the Clinton and were kindly furnished passes over the Canada Southern Railway to Buffalo. The son of the captain was lashed to a mast which broke, hence his coming ashore. Both the captain and his son belonged to the Seamen's Fund, which pays to the relatives for each $2,000. The Clinton brought down the crew of another vessel, name not known, and reports the schooner Triumph ashore, also others along the coast. -- Detroit Post, November 13.
