Accident to the Steamer May Queen

We learn from Mr. DAVID CARTER, Clerk of the Steamer May Queen, that this beautiful vessel was disabled on Wednesday night, while on her way from Cleveland to Detroit, by the breaking of both her shafts, and the crushing of her pillar blocks, in consequence of the severity of the gale. The accident took place off Black River at about eleven o'clock. She had a large load of passengers and freight, and lay at the mercy of the waves during the night and yesterday until she was taken in tow by a Propeller and brought to KELLEY Dock at the Island, where she now lies. Mr. CARTER was making arrangements for the Steamer Bay City to tow her to Detroit.
