To the Sentinel

The U.S. Steamer Michigan has just arrived in port having in tow the Arctic, which broke her shaft on her way to Milwaukee, about 25 miles north of this place. The Michigan was about 10 miles astern, and immediately went to her relief, starting back with her about 1 o'clock. The Arctic received no other injury than the breaking of the shaft. The fracture is in the journal, and as it will require some weeks to put her in running order again, a relief boat will be brought around from Detroit as soon as possible. In the mean time the London will run north from Milwaukee and the Traveller make 2 trips a day, leaving here in the morning and Milwaukee in the evening.
