The steamer America, which was coming up from Cleveland on Thursday night for the purpose of going into the dry dock ran on the reef off Point au Pellee [sic]. The May Queen tried to aid her to get off, but she was firmly on the rocks and could not be moved. Those who saw her say that her position is a bad one, and that with the change of wind which occurred soon after the May Queen left her, it is doubtful if she can be saved.--Detroit Advertiser, Saturday
