ACCIDENT TO THE IRON CITY.--By the propeller Detroit, which arrived this morning from Lake Superior, we are informed that on going up River St. Mary she burst her steam pipe, and was disabled from proceeding on her voyage. The engineer came down to Detroit on the steamer Illinois and will procure assistance and materials for the repair of the machinery. The steamer North Star probable [sic] took the passengers from the Iron City on her way up. The accident is supposed to have occurred as early as last Tuesday.
