Figures show increase of 1,734 in traffic at St. Ignace.

Official figures released this week by state automobiles ferry authority at St. Ignace show that 31,272 passenger automobiles were transported in July this year, as compared with 29,538 cars carried in July 1929, and increase of 1,734 cars or seven and one-half per cent.

Total receipts for the month just closed were $96,292.25. Revenue for the same period last year was $91,283.50 an increase of $5008.75.

Trucks to the number of 451 were carried in July this year, as compared with 339 trucks in July 1929.

Extra trips made by the ferries this season have done away with most of the congestion and long waits on docks at Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. One ferry runs throughout the night. Cars of the better class are more numerous than last year, and the number of cars carrying camping outfits is greater than ever before.
